Flyers vs. Penguins Video: Watch WWE Legend Hulk Hogan Pump Up Philadelphia Fans
Unless you have been living under a rock for the last week or so, most fans know that the Philadelphia Flyers and Pittsburgh Penguins are involved in one of the wildest playoff battles in recent NHL history.
While there are constant fights on the ice, the culprit of all the extra rage from the Flyers may have been found. The cause of all the extra curricular is none other than WWE legend Hulk Hogan.
Why Hogan, you ask? It all started because Scott Hartnell called out a fan who looked a whole lot like Hogan with a classic gesture.
That instant feedback from the Flyers fans, NHL fans and wrestling fans made the Philadelphia Organization instantly think of the great marketing pair this could be.
Just a few days later, Hogan is cutting a promo for Philadelphia talking about Flyermania running wild. While the fans were excited, the players on the team took Hogan’s shirt-rip seriously and decided to bring their own form of SmackDown to the Penguins.
The fans don’t need any help getting pumped up for action like there has been so far this series, but having arguably the greatest wrestling star in history tearing the Hogan-flesh colored shirt for Flyermania is something truly inspiring.
If the team sweeps the Penguins, they need to bring the wrestling star back every single round that the team advances. Hockey is very superstitious, so Hogan’s return would be just too great to avoid.
Just as Hogan himself did for the past 30 or more years, the Flyers are not selling the Penguins’ effort and making them look terrible. Philadelphia is truly the Hulk Hogan of American cities.
